Job Title: Contracts SpecialistJob Type: Full-time, permanentLocation: North YorkWork Model: Hybrid - 4 days on siteOur client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will oversee the negotiation, administration, and compliance of construction-related contracts while collaborating with both Canadian and U.S. stakeholders across a variety of projects.Responsibilities:Contract Review & Negotiation: Evaluate and negotiate terms for service, maintenance, refurbishment, and new construction agreements to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Risk Management: Identify potential contractual risks and collaborate with legal and project management teams to mitigate issues proactively.Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, subcontractors, property managers, and clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all contract-related discussions.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, finance, and legal teams to ensure proper execution of contract terms throughout the project lifecycle.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all contract documents, and prepare regular updates and reports for senior management.Dispute Resolution: Support resolution of contract disputes, claims, and issues through negotiation and coordination with legal resources when required.Administrative Support: Provide general support to the contracts and legal department as needed.Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years' experience in contract management, administration, or related roles within the construction industry.Bachelor’s degree in construction management, law, business, or a related discipline.Strong familiarity with legal terminology, including the ability to interpret and apply complex contractual language.Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.Prior experience with cross-border (Canada–U.S.) construction projects is an asset.Professional certifications in contract management or legal compliance preferred.
