We have an immediate need to hire a Controls Electrician.Pay:Starting pay rate: $38.25 per hour$1.00/hour additional shift premium for working on 2ndOvertime Potential!$4000 Sign-On BonusManufacturing Incentive Plant (MIP) Eligible Benefits:Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, & Vision)—Starting Day 1! 401(k) Retirement Plan – with generous company matchHershey Stock Purchase ProgramLife Insurance and Short-Term Disability Shifts: We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays. 2nd Shift work schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 2:30pm – 10:30pm Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Once your training period begins, you will be assigned to 1st shift for approximately 4 weeks, then moved to 2nd. You will be eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts and jobs when they are posted. Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts. Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and/or weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).Interview / Hiring / Selection Process:Potentially qualified applicants will complete written NOCTI electrical skills assessment either remotely Candidates that pass the written NOCTI skills assessment will be scheduled for hands-on electrical skills assessment at the plantPost-offer Drug Screen & Background Check requiredSummary:The Controls Electrician assists area Maintenance and Production personnel in maintaining an efficient operation by utilizing all necessary abilities to troubleshoot, repair and adjust equipment with a minimal amount of down time. Interpret machine manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings relative to equipment assignedUnderstand & demonstrate use of the principles of electricity, electronics, and control systemsDemonstrate an understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70-EPerform PLC and control system troubleshooting and repairDiagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning apparatus and components, such as transformers, circuitbreakers, fuses, motors, fixtures, PLC’s, motion controllers and drivesTroubleshoot Controlnet, Devicenet, DH+, Remote IO and Ethernet networksBasic knowledge of plant, fire and water sprinkler systems and their controlsMaintain area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper mannerOperate material handling equipment as requiredComplete all mandatory trainingRequired background skills and minimum qualifications shall include:Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be flexible to work any shiftMust be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as scheduledMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must be authorized to work in the United StatesMust have basic understanding of PC's and basic computer skillsMust possess experience in industrial electrical systemsMust possess experience in PLC’sMust possess experience in process controls and instrumentationMust possess experience with motors and controls (AC and DC)Must possess experience with analog and digital devicesMust possess experience with schematics and electrical print readingDemonstrated ability to use Current Probe, Multi-meter, OscilloscopeAbility to read and understand electrical diagramsAbility to systematically troubleshoot detailed electrical and electronic systemsAbility and understanding to work with voltage up to 480 voltsAbility and knowledge to troubleshoot programmable controllersUnderstanding of analog circuits, i.e., 4-20 ma or 0-10 voltsExperience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systemsPreferred Qualifications:Has either a journeyman's card from a state approved apprenticeship program or a minimum of three years of hands-on electrical work in manufacturing systems maintenance or equivalent military experienceFood manufacturing experience is highly desirableExperience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is desirableExperience with Continuous Improvement methodology is beneficialExperience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferredExperience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferred Physical Demands:Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Regularly required to work around operating equipment, confined spaces, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, walk, climb ladders and bend Working Conditions:Work will be performed within a manufacturing facilityThe use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump camps, hair and beard nets, and glovesWearing Company-issued arc flash rated uniforms is a requirementWearing arc rated and voltage rated PPE is a requirement for designated electrical tasksAny offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of the background check results consistent with The Hershey Company's employment policies.
