Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Communications Specialist to join their Corporate Marketing and Communications team on a 5-month contract. This role will support a variety of capital projects and organizational initiatives, creating engaging content and coordinating communication activities across multiple teams.The ideal candidate is a strong writer who can jump in quickly, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport communications for capital projects and corporate initiatives, from planning through execution.Write, edit, and produce content for a variety of channels including social media, internal platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook), newsletters, and print materials.Collaborate with project managers, designers, photographers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure clear, consistent, and timely messaging.Contribute to campaign planning and development, including materials for fund development and upcoming project launches.Assist in gathering and analyzing engagement and communications data to help measure effectiveness.Provide support for media and crisis communications as needed, helping to prepare key messages or responses.Apply project management skills to anticipate needs, coordinate deliverables, and identify interdependencies between projects.Qualifications & SkillsDiploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.3–5 years of experience in corporate or project-based communications, ideally supporting multiple stakeholders.Proven ability to write and edit across multiple formats — print, digital, and social.Experience using Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook) to manage communications and content.Strong organizational and time management skills; comfortable juggling multiple priorities.Collaborative, flexible, and able to “keep things moving” in a dynamic environment.Experience in crisis communications or issues management considered an asset.
