Job title: Corporate Finance Analyst Role overview: Providing financial analysis of companies and corporate transactions. Company Description: Argyll Covenant Advisory is a consultancy that provides high-quality corporate finance-style advice in the pensions sector, also known as "employer covenant" advice. Our team comprises experienced advisers and we have quickly built a reputation for clear and insightful advice. Our success has meant that we now require an analyst to support the growth of the business in our Reading office.  Job Purpose: The vacancy exists within our growing Reading team and you will be providing financial analysis of companies. The successful candidate will be either a part-qualified or recently qualified accountant with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. For example this would suit a candidate wanting to move from audit/assurance to a corporate finance environment. You will be used to working to deadlines and have excellent oral and written communication skills. You will be responsible for the preparation of key financial analysis for project leaders. Although Argyll operates within the pensions industry no pensions experience is necessary and the candidate would be required to produce similar analysis to that produced within an investment bank or rating agency. Key tasks: Perform a financial analysis of a business and identify the key factors affecting its financial strengthAnalyse financial statements of a company and draw conclusions relating to its financial strengthForm a view based on underlying performance, cash generation, KPIs, debt metrics, balance sheet strength and liquidityCarry out industry research to determine the competitive position, prospects and business risks faced by a companyAnalyse non-standard, often complex corporate situations and structuresLiaise with senior management of a business to understand its operations and obtain information not in the public domainPresent key information, analysis, the overall rating and rationale for the rating in a written report Career Development: Argyll is a small but entrepreneurial and growing business. We’re based in Reading and have an office in Leeds.
