This is a full-time position based at our head office in downtown Halifax that may require occasional travel within Canada, Ireland and France. The primary duties are:Design, build and maintain highly complex financial models for renewable energy projectsWork with cross functional teams to develop robust sets of assumptionsBe the custodian of model structural integrity and model assumptionsSupport the project team through the bid and financial close processUnderstand financing and tax structures to understand their impact on financial model and project viabilityTranslate data into meaningful information to support decision making at board levelBe resourceful, develop trust amongst stakeholders, anticipate needs of your key internal customersAd hoc analysis and support for wider team as required in a growing entrepreneurial environment  Key Tasks and Duties Project FinancingDesign, build and maintain highly complex financial models for renewable energy projectsAccurate management of information flows used to maintain financial modelsTake responsibility for structural integrity and functionality of models including accounting, tax and regulatory requirements of various global marketsDetermine optimal financing structures for projects in different marketsSupport the acquisition/investment/tender/bidding appraisal activities of multi-million dollar projects globally through financial modelling.Understand different technologies and different development jurisdictions.Clear financial analysis and communication of results.Seek tax advice and understand implication on projectsProvide support in selecting financial structures, partners and demonstrate comfort liaising with lenders and advisors to achieve financial close Business DevelopmentDirectly support the organization in realizing opportunities in respect of the following activities:PPA awardProject Acquisition and DisposalRaising debt and equityDevelopment PartnershipsTax StructuresPromote and enhance the profile and reputation of the organization to businesses involved in the renewable energy market Professional DevelopmentMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  Education and experience requirementsBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related fieldProfessional designation considered an assetSkills and ability requirementsAbility to analyze qualitative & quantitative information for decision makingStrong focus on detailStrong communication skills: ability to challenge, synthesize and clearly articulate thought processEasily motivated and can execute tasks independently & integrate easily with multi-functional teamsExcellent understanding of Financial StatementsRenewable Energy or wider energy or infrastructure industry experience is desirableProficient with MS Excel and MS Office SuiteFlexibility to Travel as required Application requirements Applications must include a cover letter and resume Other information Diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our clean energy mission.
