Cost Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator/ Specialist to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction, engineering, or industrial projects. Core ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project scopes to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.Prepare material take-offs, labor cost calculations, and equipment requirements for all project phases.Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure cost accuracy and alignment with design and construction plans.Develop cost databases, benchmarks, and historical pricing models to support future estimates.Prepare and review bid proposals, tender documents, and cost summaries for management approval.Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations, ensuring pricing and scope consistency.Identify and assess cost risks, contingencies, and potential value engineering opportunities.Support project controls during execution by monitoring costs against estimates and identifying variances.Ensure compliance with company procedures, standards, and local regulatory requirements.Provide cost analysis reports and forecasts to support management decision-making.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.4+ years of relevant experience in cost estimation within construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing industries.Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, pricing structures, and project budgeting principles.Proficiency in estimation and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Bluebeam, MS Excel, SAP).Familiarity with local building codes, local labor rates, and procurement standards.Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder coordination.We are fully GDPR compliant and take your privacy seriously.
