We’re now seeking a seasoned Credit Manager: Specialist Lending to play a key role in managing credit risk across our specialised lending portfolio.The OpportunityIn this critical Line 2 role, you’ll provide expert oversight and decision-making across Private Bank Lending, Small Business Lending, Equipment Finance, and complex consumer credit. You’ll help shape credit policy, ensure alignment with regulatory expectations, and support the business in delivering responsible lending outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage specialised lending procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidance (e.g. RG 209, RG 206, APG 223) and MyState’s risk appetite.Assess and approve specialised lending applications within delegated authority, including complex consumer and commercial credit.Support escalations from Credit Care and Loan Operations, including hardship and loan variation cases.Conduct credit hindsight reviews and contribute to Line 2 assurance activities.Identify portfolio trends and early warning indicators to inform credit strategy.Act as a subject matter expert in credit risk, supporting continuous improvement and best practice.Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and contribute to a culture of sound credit risk management.What You’ll Bring10+ years’ experience in consumer and commercial lending, including credit assessment and relationship management.Strong financial analysis and credit structuring skills, with a deep understanding of cash flow lending.Experience with equipment finance and self-employed/business income assessment.Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g. Consumer Credit Code, AML/CTF, Privacy Act).Advanced skills in data analysis, risk management, and decision-making.Certificate IV in Business or Financial Services (or willingness to obtain).Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Business are highly regarded.Why Join Us?At MyState, we’re small enough to care and big enough to make an impact.
