Credit Relations Manager-Mortgage Loan

Job Description

Job PurposeTo drive and support the mortgage loan team in the head office and branches to achieve their lending targets through planning and monitoring of overall performance, building of client base, and maintaining of existing client relationships, provide value-added comments in the Credit Appraisal Report for the management team for the support along with other underwriting activities to ensure sound lending practices and maintain a high-quality mortgage loan portfolio.LocationHead Office, Phnom Penh(3 Posts)Major Areas of ResponsibilityBusiness DevelopmentFacilitate the tasks of the Head of Department in proposing to develop new mortgage loan products, policies, and pricing strategies based on market needs to boost and achieve loan targets.Drive Unit’s performance through designing work, assigning tasks and continuous performance tracking, coaching and feedback to ensure and maintain high performing team spirit.Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve or exceed business development goals and targets.Actively participate in community events, industry conferences, and networking groups to increase visibility and attract new clients.Identify new market opportunities and develop initiatives to capture the market.Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape.Manage and overcome challenges, striving to find alternate solutions to grow the mortgage loan.Conduct a site visit at clients’ home, business premise (if applicable) and proffered collaterals during loan assessment process to obtain in-depth information concerning the soundness of their, income, business and purpose of loan application and ensure sufficient and acceptable security for the mortgage loan.Loan Portfolio ManagementProvide value added comments in the Credit Appraisal Report for the management approval as well as to monitor the loan portfolio to loan quality and continued profitability of the Bank.Prepare pre-deal paper for management consideration prior to submission of formal loan application.Continuously evaluate the risk associated with the loan portfolio to ensure it aligns with the Bank’s risk tolerance and regulatory requirements.Monitor loan performance and implement strategies to mitigate risks.Attend to detail to mortgage loan policy, guidelines, and other on-going business rules to minimize the error aiming for satisfaction audit and compliance rating.Prepare detailed reports on the status of the loan portfolio, including metrics such as default rate, loan concentrations, and overall portfolio health.Teamwork and CollaborationProvide mortgage lending technical training and other soft skills related to equip the team with the right skillsets and mindsets for the role.Coach the team to properly assess creditworthiness of the client for proposing to the Credit Committees for approval of the credit proposals.Discuss credit-related issues and loan packaging to provide sound financial advice and tailored solutions for the clients as well as to take the opportunity to cross-sell other banking products.Work closely with line manager and internal team to ensure a smooth and efficient loan approval process.Collaborating with colleagues to find solutions to complex loan scenarios and ensure a smooth transaction for the borrowers.Participating in team meetings to discuss feedback, share best practices and identify areas for improvement in the loan process.Perform other tasks as assigned.Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Business administration or other relevant.Minimum five years of working experiences in business banking, or medium-to-large business lending function including experience in a managerial or leadership role.Sound credit evaluation and analysis skills with extensive business insights related to mortgage loan in Cambodia context.Sound financial literacy and ability to interpret and analyze financial statements (audited and/or management reports) of the business in order to access repayment capacity and financial soundness of the clients.Sense of judgement and common sense with both qualitative and quantitative tools to provide sound and comprehensive analysis/evaluation on complex credit applications.In-depth knowledge of the bank operations, rules and regulations, laws, granting loans, and credit risk management.Excellent client relationship management, communication, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated leadership & management and ability to motivate and empower team members.Ability to do the presentation and maintain professionalism.Ability to use and communicate in both Khmer and English and/or other languages.Proficient Microsoft Office and Bank’s software.
