Summary Of Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative and clerical support to the office of the District Clerk. Employees in this class prepare correspondence, records and other documents; provide clerical and secretarial assistance to the District Clerk, receive incoming mail; assist callers and visitors; and maintain files and records. Essential Responsibilities and Functions include but are not limited to: Provide general clerical and administrative support for two (2) District Judges, which involves answering correspondence; preparing, maintaining and distributing court agendas, public notices, surveys and reports. Maintain all criminal court files in accordance with State Statue Local Government Code 201-205.
Assist the office of the District Judge's with state and federal reporting requirements. Maintain files and track data. Issues writs and appeals, and felony warrants. Maintain and process Juvenile records. To keep and protect Felony Records of the 52nd and 440th courts in compliance with the State Constitution and State Statutes as they relate to serving the citizens, and by fulfilling the statutory duties required as the custodian of such records through the promotion and direction of professionalism and cooperation among the District Clerk's staff. Process passports for the county as an acceptance agent for the US State Department.
Collect District Clerk fees and court costs. Minimum Educational RequirementsHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plusTwo (2) semesters (30 hours) of formal business/secretarial school or college courses; Degree preferredFive (5) years of general office and secretarial experienceMinimum QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookConsiderable administrative training, record keeping and calendar management experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsMust be detail oriented, punctual and dependableExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressureExcellent organizational skills to include ability to prioritizeExperience working a multi-line phone system a plusEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment criminal background check.
