Our business is growing fast and we are currently seeking a talented Critical Facility Operator to join our operations team at our data centre facility located in Cambridge, Ontario.Job DescriptionTITLE: Critical Facility Operator – 12HR Night Shift (7pm – 7am on a rotating 4 day / 3 day per week schedule)LOCATION: Cambridge, ON CanadaOPPORTUNITIES:This position offers the following:Safety-oriented work environmentAn opportunity to work in a large modern, air-conditioned, clean and secure Data Centre FacilitySteady year round workhours equivalent to 42 hours/week regardless of seasonopportunities for limited amounts of overtimedata centre operations classified as an essential service under federal/provincial public health guidelinesIndustry leading wage package plus RRSP contribution matching, a comprehensive group benefit plan and paid time offNo On-Call scheduleRESPONSIBILITIES:As a member of the operations team, under the supervision of the Critical Facilities Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Night Shift Data Center Technician include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinate, conduct or assist with all preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance activities, including those activities performed by Ascent’s Clients or Vendor staffPerform general maintenance/housekeeping duties (such as mopping, painting, caulking and other minor building repairs) to maintain a clean work environment and improve aesthetics of the facilityOversee Client and Vendor staff during contracted maintenance of buildings and groundsPerform basic initial troubleshooting to mechanical and infrastructural systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, life safety systems, security systems, roofs, drains, shop equipment, emergency power systems, and systems furnitureRoutinely inspect buildings, space, grounds and/or equipment regularly for problematic or unsafe conditionsPerform and oversee general and preventative maintenance tasks including equipment checks, equipment performance monitoring, cleaning, lubrication and service of a wide variety of components/devicesCoordinate, conduct or assist with facility renovations, upgrades, and build-outs including overseeing vendorsOperate and monitor site Building Management SystemsSupport overall site operation of the data center facilityOther duties as assignedQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredGood communication and organizational skills are requiredProficiency with basic operations of a computer including knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook required“Self-starter” with a positive attitudeThe following skills will be considered an asset: Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in the following areas: Electrical, HVAC, mechanical, building or process controlsMaintenance experience in 24x7 and/or critical support roleKnowledge of use and care of tools and equipment used in facilities and/or grounds maintenanceKnowledge of building codesWORKING CONDITIONS Required to maintain high level of facility cleanliness and equipment reliability which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracyNight Shifts are 12 hours 7pm to 7am and rotate over a 2 week scheduleWeek 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, SundayWeek 2 – Wednesday, ThursdayWalking and/or standing for long periods of time will be requiredBending, stooping, and lifting equipment may be requiredAdditional InformationThis position reports to the Critical Facilities ManagerAll interested candidates should visit www.ascentcorp.com and select the careers tab to apply for the position If you require accommodation during the application process, please let us know.Ascent, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
