This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced traders, operating at the intersection of data science, technology, and market strategy in a collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and improvement-orientated environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESAssist in market execution of global crude oil arbitrage strategiesOperating and maintaining existing trading analysis platform and tools with sound understanding Refine, extend existing tools and build new models to derive relations between inputs and trading signalsProcess and integrate diverse data sets including market prices, physical oil movement data, economic indicators, and exchange metadata from sources such as ICE, Bloomberg, and Kepler.Work with Jupyter notebooks and the Pandas library to wrangle, analyse, and visualise data to identify and characterise valuable trading relationships.Refine, extend, and build new models and analytical tools to improve the effectiveness and robustness of our trading signals and systems.Collaborate closely with traders to ensure all analytical work is focused on actionable outcomes.Create succinct, insightful charts and visualisations that communicate complex relationships clearly, following best practices in data visualisationConduct independent, deep-dive research to distil key insights, communicate findings clearly, and drive continual improvement of our analytical platform.REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS Demonstrated capacity for independent, detailed research, with an ability to simplify and communicate complex findings effectively.High curiosity and motivation to identify improvements and explore new analytical opportunities – our tools and models are always evolving.Proficiency in Python, particularly with data wrangling, statistical analysis, and visualisation in Jupyter notebooks using pandas and other relevant libraries.Experience integrating data from external APIs and working with large, varied data sets.Strong analytical thinking, work ethic, and clear communication skills; examples from prior experience will be heavily weighted in candidate evaluation.Ability to synthesise multiple data signals into coherent, actionable visual narratives.Prior related experience not required but interest in commodities trading is essential
