This position requires ability to revise and assess readiness of the work.QualificationsMaster's Degree in Education or a related field plus five years related experience or equivalent as described below.Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus seven years of related experience.Role RequirementsDeep knowledge of curriculum development models and mathematics education, including theory, history, and current research.Familiarity with the theory, principles, and practices in mathematics to ensure high-quality, research-informed curriculum development.Understanding of Alberta’s education policies, accountability systems, and curriculum frameworks (e.g., Education Act, Guide to Education, The Guiding Framework, FOIP).Ability to navigate department policies and collaborate across school authorities.AssetsHigh school mathematics teaching experience.Fluency in both French and English.Knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures.Familiarity with 21st century learning principles.Strong research, communication, and interpersonal skills.Effective project management and organizational abilities.Proven initiative, agility, and problem-solving skills.Teaching certificate with extensive mathematics teaching and leadership experience.Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
