Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition Title Part-Time Academic (INFO 2001 – Digital Society) Winter 2026Posting Number PTAP3127PDepartment/Unit Information ScienceLocation Halifax, Nova Scotia, CanadaJob Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesWork Assignment: INFO 2001 – Digital SocietyThe sessional instructor will teach the online undergraduate elective course Digital Society ( INFO 2001) in the 2026 Winter term.The instructor will report to the Director of the Department. Duties include but are not limited to: Responsibility for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including lectures, active learning class sessions, assignment preparation and evaluation; availability for two hours per week for consultation with students. Course syllabi are available upon request.Qualifications/Requirements Of PositionRequirements of the Position: PhD in Information Science, Anthropology, or Sociology or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching large undergraduate class, asynchronous is required. Previous experience supervising a team of teaching assistants required. Previous experience teaching INFO2000 – Digital Citizenship or INFO2001 Digital Society is required.If you are interested in this position, please apply in writing (CV and cover letter) by the deadline.
