As part of our expansion into the Cybersecurity vertical, we’re inviting sharp, vigilant, and passionate individuals to join our Cyber Security Internship CohortRole OverviewAs a Cyber Security Intern at WillHire, you will support our security and infrastructure teams in safeguarding data, monitoring threats, and building security controls across our HR-tech ecosystem. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience working on real attack surfaces, security audits, and incident response workflows in a fast-growing tech environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in monitoring and analyzing network traffic, logs, and system alerts to identify potential threatsPerform vulnerability assessments and help implement remediation strategiesParticipate in penetration testing and report exploitable weakensAssist with hardening of systems, identity & access management, and secure configuration of cloud assetsResearch emerging cyber threats, malware trends, and document recommended countermeasuresSupport creation of incident response plans, SOPs, and security awareness documentsMaintain security documentation, audit trails, and compliance reportsRequirementsCurrently pursuing (or recently completed) B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, or related fieldsStrong understanding of networking basics, OSI model, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPSFamiliarity with Linux & Windows system administration commandsKnowledge of penetration testing tools (Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit, etc.)Fundamentals of cryptography, authentication protocols & OWASP Top 10Critical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive learning mindsetNice to Have (Bonus)Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 (even if in-progress)Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure)Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, ELK stack, QRadar, etc.)Participation in CTFs, bug bounty, or cybersecurity clubs/communitiesWhat You'll GetReal-time exposure to cybersecurity operations within a tech-driven product environmentHands-on training in vulnerability assessment, threat hunting & compliance1:1 mentorship from seasoned cyber professionals & exclusive learning resourcesInternship Certificate & Letter of Recommendation upon successful completionOpportunity for a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) at WillHire or with our client organizationsHiring Process Online ApplicationResume + short write-up on your cybersecurity interests/projectsSecurity AptitudeTestMCQ + scenario-based assessment on networking & cyber fundamentalsTechnical InterviewLive discussion around vulnerabilities, tools, and problem-solvingManagerial InterviewAssess motivation, culture fit, communication skillsOfferFormal internships offer with stipend details & role expectationsOnboardingAccess provisioning, training roadmap & project kickoff Stipend Minimum $24/hour (in accordance with Canada minimum wage guidelines for interns), with potential increment based on interview scores and skill assessment
