CSEO and C-SpaRC. The RoleWe are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and test the electronic heart of our space systems. You will be responsible for creating robust avionics, payload electronics, and telecommunication systems for various space applications. You will work within a team of scientists and engineers, from our international partners which include NASA and Lockheed Martin, and domestic partners such as the University of Cyprus, CYENS CoE, Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the Aretaeio Hospital.
This role requires you to work hands-on, from schematic design and simulation to board-level testing and system integration, ensuring our technology performs flawlessly in the demanding environment of space. What You Will Do· Design and develop embedded systems using microcontrollers and FPGAs. · Create and test satellite telecommunication subsystems, including transmitters, receivers, and modems. · Perform circuit design, schematic capture, and simulation using tools like OrCAD and SPICE. · Develop firmware and software in C, Python, and MATLAB for hardware control, data acquisition, and signal processing. · Conduct comprehensive board-level testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, function generators, and logic analysers.
· Analyse test data and performance metrics using software like NI DIAdem. · Ensure all electronic designs and processes comply with relevant space industry standards (e. g. , ECSS). · Produce high-quality technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and verification documents. Required Qualifications & ExperienceTo apply for this role, you need to proof of experience in the following areas: Core Competencies: · Embedded Systems Design (Microcontrollers, FPGAs)· Satellite Telecommunications (RF, Digital Communications)· Test & Measurement Equipment: · Hands-on use of Function Generators, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, and Logic Analysers. Software Proficiency in any of the following: · EDA Tools: OrCAD, SPICE, or similar. · Data Analysis: NI DIAdem. · Programming:
Python, C, MATLAB. Soft Skills: · Proficient in the English Language· Team player· Familiarity with Project Management PrinciplesDesired SkillsStandards: · Familiarity with relevant space industry standards and regulations for electronics. Experience / Qualifications: · An MSc or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. · Direct experience working on projects for the European Space Agency (ESA) or other space agencies. · Proven experience in RF and antenna design. · Experience with power management systems for space applications.
