Data and Innovation Technology Risk Professional – JuniorIndustry: Financial Services / Technology Risk / AI ComplianceLocation: Tampa, FL (on-site 4 days per week)Estimated salary:$63,590 – $121,530About the RoleA Junior Data and Innovation Technology Risk Professional is responsible for supporting risk management and compliance related to AI and GenAI technologies within a financial or insurance environment. The role focuses on second-line-of-defense (SLOD) functions, ensuring that data usage, security, and AI applications comply with regulatory and organizational standards.You’ll work closely with business, data, and technology teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in emerging AI platforms and data-driven initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, assess, and document operational and compliance risks, particularly around AI and data technologies.Support the implementation of risk and compliance policies and frameworks.Analyze data trends to inform risk mitigation and compliance strategies.Contribute to stress testing and contingency planning for business operations.Collaborate across teams to manage risk associated with new technologies, products, and vendors.Help develop tools and processes for monitoring and reporting technology and data risks.QualificationsBachelor’s degree (or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree)2+ years of experience in financial services, insurance, or a related technical fieldKnowledge of risk and compliance management principles and regulatory standardsExperience with data analysis tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and work collaboratively across teamsPreferred SkillsUnderstanding of second-line-of-defense (SLOD) risk and compliance in AI/GenAIFamiliarity with leading AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Q, and Microsoft CopilotBackground in data risk management, including encryption, access control, and PII complianceExperience in information or cybersecurityKnowledge of emerging AI regulations and their application in financial servicesCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $63,590 – $121,530 annually (based on experience and location)Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) + pension, life insurance, paid time off, volunteer hours, wellness programs, and professional development supportAbout the CompanyA major financial institution focused on innovation, digital transformation, and responsible use of AI in financial services.
