About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Data Business Analyst to join our team. This is a critical role focused on understanding and consolidating multiple data products, e.g. Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, etc. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with various stakeholders, including end-users, product managers, and development teams, to elicit, analyse, and document requirements and use cases for multiple data products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, experience of working with multiple data and BI products, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs related to data and BI products into clear and actionable specifications for our development teams. Contract Duration: 5-month contract with potential for extension based on project needs and performance Location: Lahore, Pakistan - This is an onsite role requiring daily presence at our office Key Responsibilities: Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys with end-users and product owners across different software products to gather comprehensive BI reporting requirements. Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Identify, analyse, and document current and future state Data & BI product needs, focusing on user stories, data sources, report types (dashboards, ad-hoc reports, scheduled reports), and key performance indicators (KPIs). Look at how customers access and consume the current reports. They should have ability to map source to target. Commonality Identification and data modeling: Actively identify and articulate common data patterns and BI reporting requirements and use cases that span across multiple software products, aiming for consolidation and standardization where possible. They should be able to model data Or at least be comfortable workign with the team to challenge and define appropriate models. Documentation: Create clear, concise, and well-structured documentation, including but not limited to: Requirements Specifications (Functional and Non-Functional) Data modeling and map source to target Use Cases and User Stories Process Flows Data Dictionaries (related to reporting) Impact Assessments Gap Analysis: Identify gaps between existing Data and BI product capabilities and desired future state, proposing solutions or enhancements. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data engineers, developers, and quality assurance teams to ensure a shared understanding of reporting requirements and their feasibility. Validation: Facilitate reviews of documented requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business objectives. Prioritization Support: Assist in the initial prioritization of identified reporting requirements based on business value, effort, and strategic alignment. Agile and Scrum: Strong understanding and experience of Agile principal while working in a Scrum Master role is desirable. Skills & Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Business Analyst, specifically with a focus on Data and Business Intelligence products, data analysis, or reporting projects. Has worked with UK or US companies or demonstrated experience working with international clients/stakeholders across different time zones Excellent command of both written and spoken English Demonstrable experience in eliciting requirements from diverse stakeholder groups, including senior management and end-users. Strong understanding of Data and BI concepts, data warehousing principles, and reporting best practices. Familiarity with various reporting tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, SSRS) is highly desirable. Experience and understanding of Agile methodologies and working as a Scrum Master. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice-versa. Proficiency in creating clear and comprehensive documentation (e.g., using MS Office Suite, Confluence, Jira). Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working within a software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a plus. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) are a plus.
