Join a leading financial services organization operating across global markets as a Data Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Cork. This is your opportunity to work on innovative data projects that serve internal teams and support strategic decision-making.In this pivotal role, you'll develop and support advanced data infrastructure—including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Lakehouses on AWS—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and maintain data pipelines. Your contributions will directly enable scalable and efficient reporting solutions that enhance organizational insights and client service delivery.Key Requirements:3-5 years hands-on experience with Databricks on AWS, with solid cloud data engineering knowledge.Proficiency in Python and SQL, with understanding of relational databases like Postgres, Oracle, or SQL Server (preferred but not required).Extensive experience developing data pipelines, ETL, and data modelling for data warehousing and BI.Ability to collaborate across teams, gather requirements, and deliver scalable data solutions.Familiar with GIT for version control and best practices.Strong analytical skills to turn complex needs into technical solutions, with clear communication to stakeholders.Nice to Have Skills:Experience with Machine Learning or AI initiativesFamiliarity with web services integration using REST, SOAP, or JSONKnowledge of XML or XBRL data formatsExposure to data transformation tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Experience working within Agile or SCRUM environmentsIndustry background in finance or banking sectorsPreferred Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields5-7 years' experience in data warehousing, BI development, and data analysisThis opportunity is an 6-month contract, in Cork, paying a maximum €72K per annum (pro rata).
