Data Management Project Manager

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in data management to lead and deliver complex data projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of the data lifecycle. This role requires working across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high standards of data quality, governance, and compliance. Having experience working in banking or financial services is a big plus.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end delivery of data management projects, including data quality, data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM)Engage with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and translate them into actionable project plansDevelop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage execution against these plansOversee project resources, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with project objectivesIdentify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies proactivelyPrepare and present status reports, dashboards, and updates to executive stakeholdersCollaborate with data architects, data engineers, data stewards, and other specialists to drive deliveryChampion best practices in Agile or Hybrid delivery models suited to data projectsSupport change management and adoption across business usersRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications preferred4+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years managing data management projectsDemonstrated experience delivering projects involving:Data governance frameworksMetadata and lineage managementData quality initiativesMaster data and reference data solutionsData warehouse or lake implementationsProficient in using project management tools like MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, or equivalentExceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsStrong leadership and team management capabilities with ability to drive multi-disciplinary teamsPreferred Skills (Nice To Have)Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly preferredUnderstanding of data regulations in the banking sector (e.g., GDPR, local regulatory bodies)Experience working with data platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Talend, or SnowflakeFamiliarity with data strategy and enterprise data architectureExposure to cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)Knowledge of BI/reporting tools and data visualization platformsAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
