They are implementing a global Product Information Management (PIM) capability based on the Akeneo SaaS platform, to acquire, centralise, enhance, and master product data across manufacturing, marketing, sales, and digital channels. This role will support the data migration and cleansing stream of the PIM project — ensuring clean, complete, and well-structured product data is prepared and migrated into Akeneo.This role suits a detail-oriented, technically capable individual who enjoys working with large datasets, CSV transformations, and automating repetitive data operations. You’ll join a small, agile delivery team collaborating with internal and external SMEs to continuously improve product data quality.Key ResponsibilitiesExtract, cleanse, and transform product data from Salesforce and other systems into Akeneo-ready formats using Excel, Python, and command-line tools.Execute data migrations — preparing, validating, and uploading CSV files into Akeneo, and reviewing import logs and outcomes for accuracy.Develop and maintain data-migration tools, including Excel templates, Power Query models, and Python scripts for mapping, validation, and automation.Collaborate with business SMEs and technical teams to refine attribute mappings, family structures, select lists, and reference entities.Perform data quality assurance through reconciliation, completeness checks, and exception tracking across multiple test cycles.Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the data migration and validation workflows.Document and improve repeatable processes for data migration, cleansing, and QA to build out a scalable “data migration factory.”Coordinate and support business users in data remediation and attribute clarification during migration preparation.Your QualificationsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, structured tables, and modern formulas (LET, LAMBDA, dynamic arrays).Strong working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation (using pandas, csv, or similar libraries).Practical experience with data migration and ETL lifecycles — extract, transform, load, and validation.Skilled in handling large CSV datasets, including delimiters, quoting, and file integrity.Familiarity with command-line utilities (e.g., csvkit, grep, xsv) for data validation and transformation.Exposure to version control systems such as GitHub.Experience with PIM/MDM systems (ideally Akeneo) and Salesforce Product2 data structures is advantageous.Understanding of data governance, attribute completeness, and reference entity concepts.Experience working with product data in manufacturing, wholesale, or retail environments.Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, clear communications, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.Additional DetailsOur client is located in Melbourne's northern suburbs, along major transport routes. Hybrid working is possible. The initial contract will be for 6 months, with a potential / likely extension.This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of a global manufacturer’s PIM journey.
