Job Title: Data Product Owner📍 Location: Halifax, NS (Remote – open across Canada, preference for EST/CST time zones)🕓 Type: ContractWe are seeking an experienced Data Product Owner to join our team supporting Humana’s enterprise data modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data-centric product ownership, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive the design, delivery, and optimization of modern data products and platforms.You’ll act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment with strategic data goals and driving measurable business outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead or coordinate cross-functional teams from design to delivery of data-driven products and solutions.Define, prioritize, and manage product backlogs aligned with business objectives and data strategy.Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of enterprise data initiatives.Monitor project performance and recommend schedule, cost, or resource adjustments when necessary.Identify product gaps, define requirements, and engage with business partners to understand market and organizational needs.Provide accurate and timely updates to leadership and stakeholders.Contribute to continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making across the organization.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field.7+ years total experience, including:3+ years of hands-on technical or data-related experience.5+ years in a leadership or project/product management capacity.Proven experience as a Product Owner in data modernization, analytics, or data platform initiatives.Strong understanding of agile delivery and data governance best practices.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Passion for driving innovation and improving consumer experiences.Preferred QualificationsSix Sigma Certification or equivalent process improvement experience.Background in healthcare or insurance data domains is a plus.
