SUMMARY: Crowley’s Corporate Data Analytics team supports the broader organization by understanding business processes, identifying areas for analytics opportunities, and developing impactful solutions through applied machine learning and data-driven insights. The Corporate Data Analytics team is looking for a driven professional with applied experience in developing data science solutions, able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders to directly create value and promote an analytics mindset within the organization. The ideal candidate will work within cross-functional teams to identify key business opportunities, build predictive models, and deliver actionable insights that benefit internal decision-making and enhance customer experience yielding a measurable impact to the Company’s operations. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Development: Ability to develop prototypes and scale to end-to-end data science solutions with actionable insights, including exploratory analyses, ingestion, cleaning, modeling, and visualization. Clean, enrich, and transform structured and unstructured data from disparate sources to support analytical tasks. Communication: Communicate & present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships throughout the organization, fostering communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Collaborate with peer data functions, including data engineers, infrastructure, IT,and analysts to take a unified approach to solving and delivery analytics solutions. Deployment: Demonstrate DevOps practices to deploy developed models in a production environment, monitoring model degradation and ensuring consistent performance over time. Value Realization: Quantify impact of recommendations to further promote value of developed solutions. Research: Continuous learning to understand existing analytics strategies, industry trends, and stay up to date with emerging technologies, applying findings to further Crowley’s analytical growth. EDUCATION: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree plus professional qualification in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, industrial engineering or a related field. EXPERIENCE: 3+ years relevant work experience in applied data science and machine learning. Professional background in academics, or in applied development across operational and commercial business functions. QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including language model architecture, transformer models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and evaluation strategies. Proficiency with Python, SQL, and data visualization tools Experience with time-series forecasting, non-parametric statistics, probabilistic modeling, spatial modeling, traditional machine learning techniques (clustering, linear models, tree-based models), dimensionality reduction techniques, deep learning (neural network frameworks), multivariate analyses or A/B testing, and natural language processing. Familiarity with machine learning-specific Python libraries, including Scikit-Learn and Tensorflow/PyTorch/Keras. Experience with cloud service platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Ability to design, develop and deploy lightweight webapp applications, using frameworks such as Plotly, Dash, Streamlit, or Shiny. Understanding of data engineering efforts, including data ingestion, ETL processes, (Extract, Transform, Load), data modeling, and working with APIs Familiarity with MLOps and DevOps practices, including model performance monitoring and governance, to ensure sustained model quality in production. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with integration platforms (preferred) Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain analytics (preferred) Experience with scaled data processing techniques (Spark), orchestration tools (Airflow), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). (preferred) Knowledge of geospatial analytics or route optimization.
