Application deadline: 19.11.2025Employment Start: January 2026Hours per week: 30 h/wYour ResponsibilitiesWe are currently looking for a data scientist/geoinformatics specialist with in-depth knowledge to work on the ADUCAT (Actionable Data Space for Urban Climate Adaptation and related socio-ecological, local Transformation) project. Our main focus is on the development and application of InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) algorithms for the investigation of urban infrastructure and their integration into practice-oriented information systems. The working language in the project consortium is German.The tasks include:Develop algorithms and analyse geodata, in particular Sentinel-1 radar satellite dataDevelop, optimise, and automate remote sensing analysis workflowsDevelop familiarity with SpatioTemporal Asset Catalogs (STAC) and Open Geospatial Consortium standards (OGC)Present project progress clearly and communicate challenges and issues effectivelyParticipate in project meetings and maintain regular exchange with project partnersPresent and discuss results in project meetings and workshopsPrepare project reports accuratelyPrepare publicationsAdmission RequirementsCompleted MSc in geoinformatics, remote sensing, or a related field with an interest in geomorphology and natural hazards.Desired QualificationAdvanced programming skills in Python, etc.Knowledge of remote sensing, in particular the evaluation of Sentinel-1 radar satellite data using synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR)Experience in software developmentKnowledge of the Linux operating systemKnowledge of cloud computingKnowledge of geodata analysis and geovisualisationAbility to work in a team, work independently, and take initiative/responsibilityWillingness to take on responsibilities and work in a teamWe offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,007.20 for a fulltime position.
