Title: Data ScientistLocation: McLean, VA (Hybrid – 3 Days a week)Job Type: 4+ Months of ContractJob Description:We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong technical expertise in Python, AWS, and Machine Learning to join our data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning models and data-driven solutions that support business decision-making and enhance product capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions using Python and AWS services.Work closely with data engineers and analysts to collect, clean, and process large datasets stored in DynamoDB and Amazon Aurora.Develop and automate data pipelines and workflows for model training, validation, and deployment in AWS environments.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems, translate them into data science use cases, and present actionable insights.Implement scalable data and model solutions leveraging AWS services such as S3, SageMaker, Lambda, and Glue.Perform feature engineering, statistical modeling, and algorithm tuning to improve model performance.Communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.3+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.Proficient in Python and key libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.Strong understanding of AWS ecosystem, including SageMaker, Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, and Aurora.Experience with SQL and data modeling for both structured and unstructured data.Solid foundation in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience deploying ML models in production using AWS services.Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (CI/CD, model monitoring).Exposure to data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks.“Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of – Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans.”
