Job Title :Data ScientistLocation : Chicago, IllinoisType : Full timeOur client is looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to develop, optimize, and deploy advanced AI solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes. You’ll work with vast datasets, cutting-edge technologies, and a collaborative team to turn complex data into actionable intelligence.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, train, test, and implement machine learning models across their entire lifecycle — from concept to production.Utilize a modern tech stack including Python, Conda, AWS, Spark, Kubeflow Pipelines, and other open-source tools to extract insights from large-scale numerical and textual data.Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to build and deliver impactful, data-powered solutions.Simplify complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights that align with business priorities and customer needs.What Makes You a Great FitData Expert: You excel at managing and interpreting large, complex datasets from multiple sources and understand that quality data is the foundation of impactful machine learning.Analytical Thinker: You have hands-on experience building and validating predictive models, interpreting key metrics like ROC curves and confusion matrices, and applying methods such as clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series modeling, and deep learning.Technically Driven: You’re proficient in open-source languages and tools, and passionate about using technology to solve real-world challenges.Customer-Focused: You balance technical innovation with a strong sense of purpose — ensuring every solution delivers measurable value for end users.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Analytics, Operations Research, or similar) and 5+ years of data analytics experience, OR Master’s degree (or MBA with a quantitative specialization) and 3+ years of analytics experience, OR PhD in a quantitative or STEM-related discipline.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a STEM field with 3+ years of experience in applied data science.1+ year of experience working with AWS or other cloud-based environments.3+ years of programming experience using Python for machine learning and analytics.3+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models, including at least one year building Gradient Boosting Models (GBMs).3+ years of SQL experience for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
