As a Data Security Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding customers through their data security transformation journey—enhancing resilience, reducing risk, and building trust.As a Data Security Solutions Engineer, you’ll be a trusted technical advisor to CISOs, DPO's, legal and security teams. You’ll help them explore how Microsoft’s security technologies—such as Microsoft Purview—can protect their data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.You’ll lead the technical side of engagements, from initial conversations and demos to workshops and proof-of-concepts. Your goal is to help customers understand what’s possible, remove roadblocks, and guide them toward successful adoption of Microsoft Purview.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.ResponsibilitiesOwn the technical strategy for data security transformation opportunities.Deliver tailored demos and solution presentations that address real-world data security challenges and regulatory compliance.Lead workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concepts to help customers envision secure architectures and operational resilience.Help customers understand how AI tools fit into their security, governance, and compliance frameworks.Identify and remove technical blockers to accelerate deployment of Microsoft security solutions such as Purview.Collaborate across teams and with partners to scale technical engagement.Drive customer impact through technical wins and removing blockers.Document technical plans and ensure smooth handoffs to implementation and support teams, including managed security service providers (MSSPs).Keep engagements on track with clear technical close plans, risk mitigation strategies, and partner involvement.Escalate unresolved technical issues through the right engineering and product support channels.Promote support services and security workshops to help customers adopt solutions faster and more effectively.QualificationsDemonstrated success in technical sales, solution engineering, or consulting—ideally within data security & compliance.Deep knowledge of data security, paired with hands-on experienceExceptional communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence decision-makers across both business and IT landscapes.Confident facilitator of demos, workshops, and technical conversations, capable of translating complex concepts into clear value.Collaborative mindset, thriving in cross-functional environments and working seamlessly with partners to achieve shared goals.Educational foundation in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field:Master’s Degree + solid experience in technical pre-sales or consulting, ORBachelor’s Degree + extensive experience in technical pre-sales or consulting, OREquivalent practical experience that demonstrates strong technical and customer-facing capabilities.Relevant cybersecurity certificationsFluency in English is required; Danish is preferred.Citizenship Verification:Due to legal requirements for supporting Danish government agency customers, verification of citizenship is required.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
