OverviewThe Demand Planning Manager for the Transportation business works with Stryten's supply chain network to anticipate and fulfill customer demand. You own: Demand forecasting for the transportation business which ultimately drives the production plan for two production plants. As a company leader, this position drives a culture of continuous improvement in all areas to ensure customer satisfaction, productivity, and employee development.ResponsibilitiesManagement of Consensus Forecast ProcessOwns development and maintenance of rolling 12 month demand PlanKey contributor during Sales and Operations Planning review cycles developing the Demand Plan in conjunction with the Commercial team.Maintains monthly S&OP planning documentsLeads forecast reviews with account managers monthly to keep the forecast aligned with customer demandLeads operations calls with national accounts weekly/bi-weekly in conjunction with the Account manager to resolve demand & supply questions and issues with fill rates or other metricsResponsible for delivery of Forecast accuracy and fill rate metricsContinuous Process Improvement to provide more accurate forecasts and faster response to changes in customer demandExtensive KetteQ / JDE and Business Process Knowledge to Support TeamsExtensive Sales Planning & Prioritization Process Knowledge to execute allocationAdditional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals. Qualifications5-10 years experience in Supply Planning, Forecasting, Inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and/or operationsAbility to work in a complex matrix environment and receive cooperation and input from people not under their direct supervisionUnderstand the linkages between distribution requirements planning and other supply chain processes such as demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, production scheduling, MRP, and transportation managementUtilize business knowledge and mathematical skills to creatively evaluate situations and adopt a "big picture" approach when implementing solutionsFamiliar with transaction systems and decision-support tools, database creation and manipulation, spreadsheets, word processing, graphicsAdvanced planning software experience, in systems like JDA, SAP, KetteQ or similar.Strong Interpersonal skills; Verbal and written communications skillsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Management or related disciplineMBA/Masters in Information Technology or Logistics preferredPreferred experience in Demand Planning RoleCPIM (APICS) certification a plus.Competencies, Skills, KnowledgeWorking knowledge of supply chain planning, processes, and systems.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and planning system solutins.Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical skills.
