Business Compliance Officers are the principal experts for regulatory implementation, issue identification and remediation for their respective business areas. The Dental & Vision Compliance Officer maintains robust knowledge of compliance requirements, issues and impacted business processes specific to the Dental and Vision businesses.Compliance ResponsibilitiesLead implementation of new and changed regulations by working with business stakeholdersPartner with business unit leaders to identify emerging trends and potential compliance risk areasDevelop, review and analyze functional unit or LOB specific metrics to monitor complianceDevelop, implement and oversee a business compliance program in alignment with the Enterprise Compliance ProgramPartner with State and Federal Compliance Managers regarding impacts of legislation, regulations and other directives potentially impacting the business; monitor implementation plans and escalate significant barriers to leadershipInitiate, track and monitor corrective action plans resulting from regulatory examinations and other internal/external analyses and auditsConsult with business unit or matrix partners to support self-audits, internal audits and compliance certification activitiesProvide subject matter expertise on compliance impacts of projects and other proposed activities Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior by undertaking enterprise compliance initiatives, compliance remediation, and training and communication initiativesIdentify and evaluate compliance best-practices across the enterprise and industry for implementation in business unitRepresent the corporation on regulatory and industry committees and projects as neededPrivacy ResponsibilitiesEnsure the adoption and implementation of published privacy standards and policies within assigned business areaProvide feedback on developed privacy policies, as appropriateEnsure the creation of procedures to support published standards and policiesProvide risk information to support annual privacy risk assessmentsPromote awareness, education and compliance with privacy issues within assigned business areaParticipate on information incident teams when the incident involves assigned business area; provide support and remediate any gaps, as appropriateSupport the Enterprise Privacy Office in any privacy compliance related mattersAttend and actively participate in quarterly Privacy Steward meetingsChampion privacy program-related activities within assigned business areaQualificationsBachelor’s or equivalent experience; minimum 5+ years of compliance/regulatory experienceStrong knowledge of Cigna’s Dental and Vision businessesFamiliarity with insurance, healthcare, legal, government/regulatory environment to understand and articulate compliance barriers and suggest compliant alternativesAbility to assess risk from multiple angles (compliance, regulatory, business)Ability to synthesize the risk issues into actionable steps to mitigateAbility to develop and nurture strong relationships with business leadersAbility to act as a change agent for improvements: Compliance and Privacy risk mitigationDiligence in oversight and monitoringSuperior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills requiredExcellent time management skills with ability to multi-task in deadline driven environment with competing priorities.Ability to work and make decisions independentlyResults oriented with ability and willingness to work in matrix environment.If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 113,600 - 189,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.We want you to be healthy, balanced, and feel secure.
