With a portfolio spanning Department of Defense and public health institutions, we combine mission-aligned strategy with creative execution to inform, engage, and impact.Position Overview: Blueprint seeks a Communications Strategist with demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. As a key mid-level contributor, you will work alongside senior strategists, program managers, and DoD leadership to develop and execute mission-critical communication campaigns that align with military culture, priorities, and audiences.Your mission: shape narratives, synchronize campaigns, and develop messaging frameworks that drive clarity, alignment, and stakeholder engagement across DoD initiatives.Location: Washington, DC/ Arlington, VA areaCore Responsibilities: Strategic CommunicationsDevelop short- and long-term communications plans aligned with DoD prioritiesDraft messaging frameworks, key messages, and segmentation strategiesSynchronize communication efforts across divisions, stakeholders, and contractorsCampaign ExecutionSupport communication campaigns: content calendars, briefs, tactical plansIdentify amplification opportunities across digital, community, and media platformsCollaborate with designers, writers, and digital teams to ensure strategic alignmentResearch & AnalysisResearch programs, policies, and audience insights to inform strategiesMonitor public sentiment and media for proactive messaging opportunitiesContribute to performance evaluation and campaign refinementStakeholder EngagementPrepare talking points and event materials for leadership and external stakeholdersEngage veteran groups, families, and partner organizations in outreach effortsRequired Qualifications: Education:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Political Science, or related field. Experience: 3–6 years of experience in communication planning, campaign support, or public affairs, preferably within a military, federal, or public sector environment. Skills & Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messages to diverse audiences. Familiarity with Army structure, values, and communication protocols preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Desirable Attributes: Experience working on military or federal communications initiatives. Understanding of Army strategic priorities such as modernization, readiness, and integrated deterrence.
