Position Overview:The Deputy Director of Legal will lead the legal function to ensure that all activities of PT Masmindo Dwi Area comply with applicable laws, mining regulations, and corporate governance standards. This role plays a vital part in managing legal risks, overseeing permits and licenses, contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance, especially in the context of the mining industry. The position also provides strategic legal counsel to the Board and senior management.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all legal aspects of the company’s operations, including contract review, litigation, compliance, and land-related matters.Develop and implement legal strategies that align with corporate and mining operational goals.Supervise the end-to-end permitting and licensing process and maintain strong engagement with relevant government institutions (e.g., ESDM, KLHK, local government) to support regulatory compliance and approvals.Monitor and ensure the company’s ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including mining, environmental, labor, and corporate law.Provide legal support for project financing, major contracts (e.g., procurement, EPC/EPCM), and strategic commercial transactions.Manage legal matters related to land use, community relations, and sustainability obligations.Represent the company in negotiations, legal proceedings, and coordinate with external legal counsel when needed.Lead internal legal education initiatives and ensure governance, ethics, and compliance standards are upheld.Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing legal team to support both corporate and operational needs.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Master’s Degree or LL.M. is a strong advantage.Licensed to practice law in Indonesia (PERADI certified).Minimum 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.Experience in the mining or energy/natural resources industry is essential.Deep knowledge of Indonesian mining regulations, licensing procedures, environmental law, corporate law, and land law.Proven experience in handling permitting and regulatory matters with government institutions.Strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.Strong business acumen and ability to provide pragmatic legal solutions in complex environments.Work Environment:Office and site-based working conditions, with frequent visits to operational sites.May require travel to remote locations or regional offices.Must be adaptable to dynamic work settings in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
