With the target of 50 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, AGEL is driving India on its renewable energy journey.Job Purpose: Associate - Quality (Mechanical/Corrosion) is responsible for ensuring the quality standards and compliance of Mechanical packages for Solar and Wind Projects. This role focuses on the timely submission of QA requirements, the finalization of quality plans, and the execution of inspections as per the established quality assurance processes. The Associate will implement process improvements and corrective actions to enhance vendor performance, contribute to organizational building through effective vendor assessments, and ensure safety compliance during inspections. The position aims to drive operational excellence, minimize defects, and support the successful delivery of projects within budgetary constraints.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Performance:Ensure the submission of 100% QA requirements within 03 days to TC/Engineering upon receipt of specifications for assigned Mechanical Packages of Solar & Wind Projects.Finalize 100% SQP, SFQP, and vendor list with bidders during pre-bid discussions for assigned Mechanical packages within 06 working days of the pre-bid meeting or receipt of Letter of Intent (LOI).Ensure inspections are conducted on proposed inspection days, with a minimum of 02 days' advance notification from vendors, and verify that inspections are carried out as per the SQP for Mechanical packages.Complete all inspections within 12 hours of receiving a Inspection call from vendor and Issue Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCC) after acceptance of materials, supporting the timely supply to project sites.Business Transformation & Change ManagementIdentify and implement process improvements annually (e.g., KAIZEN, Six Sigma, POKAYOKE) at the vendor end for Mechanical Packages.Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) based on repetitive quality issues observed in previous and current renewable projects.Drive process improvement initiatives at the vendor end through the Supplier Green Channel Partner Program.Organization BuildingIdentify Green, Grey, and Red Zone vendors by evaluating defects per lot in material inspections and implement improvement plans quarterly.Review, upgrade, and develop a minimum of 3 SQPs/SFQPs for Mechanical packages based on feedback and lessons learned to reduce equipment failure.Ensure SafetyAchieve 100% compliance with safety standards during inspections, site audits, and surveillance for Mechanical Packages.Ensure zero fatalities and zero lost time during supplier inspections.Strategic ComplianceOptimize TPI man-days by effectively utilizing QA manpower and making judicious decisions on inspections for Mechanical packages of Solar & Wind Projects to meet the approved budget.Issue Material Delivery Completion Certificates (MDCC) within 48 hours after acceptance of material to support timely supply at the site.Conduct vendor assessments of new suppliers for equipment supply within 10 days for the BOS-Mechanical package of Solar & Wind Projects.Key Stakeholders - InternalEngineering TeamProject ManagersProcurement TeamSafety DepartmentOperations and Maintenance TeamsKey Stakeholders - ExternalVendors/SuppliersThird-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIAs)Regulatory AuthoritiesClients and Project OwnersContractors and SubcontractorsQualificationsEducational Qualification:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.Work Experience7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the Renewable Energy sector, particularly related to mechanical packages for wind, solar & hybrid projects.Strong knowledge of Quality standards and methodologies.Experience with inspection techniques and mechanical component testing.
