Job DescriptionBusiness Unit: EDRC (Renewables BU)Position Title: Design Engineer – Civil/StructuralReports To: Design LeadReported By: —EducationB.Tech in Civil EngineeringM.Tech in Structural EngineeringExperience7–9 years in design and detailing of civil and structural works in:Solar Power Plant ProjectsWind FarmsConstruction IndustryOil & GasObjectiveThe Design Engineer will handle complete design and detailed engineering for Solar Power Plants (Mini Grid, Megawatt scale, and rooftop plants). Responsibilities include reviewing design documents and drawings, coordinating with other disciplines (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical), and managing engineering activities within budget, on time, and with high quality.Key ResponsibilitiesAllocate work to draftsmenDesign and analyze structures and foundations for control rooms/inverter roomsAnalyze, design, and detail module mounting structures and componentsDesign and detail roads, drains, boundary fences, and gatesDesign and detail equipment foundations (transformers, HT panels, LA)Submit design documents and drawings for client approvalEnsure compliance with Indian and international design standardsCoordinate with site teams and clients for design requirementsCheck BOQ and materials against previous projectsPrepare DBR scope of work for project engineeringInteract with clients for drawing approvals and clarificationsLiaise with site and SCM for clarifications and vendor queriesConduct site visits as requiredTechnical ExpertiseCivil & Structural engineering for:Solar MMS structuresFoundations (solar, wind turbine, RCC control rooms, transformers, outdoor equipment, inverter rooms)Grading, roads, drainage, outdoor steel structuresReview vendor engineering documents for civil & structural designOperating NetworkInternal: Engineering Heads, Cluster Heads (SCM, QC, PEMs), Proposal Team, Safety, Section HeadsExternal: Clients/Consultants, VendorsKey Performance IndicatorsOn-time deliveryQuality controlQuantity vs. ACE (Accepted Cost Estimate)Internal process complianceDevelopment of subordinatesInnovation and new idea implementationLearning and growthSoftware SkillsSTAAD Pro, ETABS Civil, ANSYSAwareness of AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, InfraWorksMS OfficeBehavioral AttributesCommunication & persuasionFlexibility, adaptability, creativityCultural fitInternal and external networkingTime managementEffective leadershipMulti-taskingDetail-orientedPassionate
