We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our growing team.Since our inception, we have been based out of Te Rapa and after a recent move to our new home near the Airport, we are bringing our three divisions together under the one roof. This means the bringing together not only of our people, but also our processes, and that includes production planning.We’re seeking a Design Manager to lead our design function, driving innovation, compliance, and quality across all vehicle construction, modification, and fit-out projects.This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a talented design team, oversee project execution from concept to completion, and collaborate closely with Sales, Build, and Quality teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.Key responsibilities:Lead the design and development of specialty vehicle systems and layoutsEnsure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Drive design innovation and continuous improvementCollaborate cross-functionally to deliver seamless project executionMentor and develop a high-performing design teamOversee production documentation including BOMs, drawings, and 3D modelsYou'll need:5+ years in senior design or design management within manufacturing or automotive industriesProven leadership and team development experienceExpertise in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and fabrication techniquesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsTertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field Why Join Wade Group:Be part of a company that values innovation and craftsmanshipWork on exciting, purpose-built vehicle projects for a diverse range of customers providing critical services in New Zealand and internationallyJoin a supportive team environment with opportunities for growthGain access to our onsite gym and enjoy the daily breakfasts we provide for our team If you take pride in your trade and want to be part of and growing innovative organisation, we want to hear from you.
