Earle Miller Public SchoolStart date: As soon as possible (temporary position until June 25, 2026 or return of absent employee)Vacancy Details: 1.0 (full-time, 35 hours/week)QualificationsRegistered in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators ResponsibilitiesThe DECE will:Collaborate with the classroom teacher and principal to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that reflect the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten ProgramCo-facilitate play-based activities that allow students to demonstrate learning related to the four frames of the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten ProgramEffectively and efficiently observe and document student learning using a variety of tools and techniques to assist the educator in the assessment of the development of studentsCollaborate with the classroom teacher to promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotional and social learning environmentAssume other duties/responsibilities specifically related to the functions of children and the effective delivery of the Early Learning Curriculum as determined by the Principal and the Superintendent of EducationAssetsThorough understanding of the Ministry of Educations Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten ProgramThorough understanding of the developmental continuum for this age groupDemonstrated appropriate behaviour management techniques with individuals, small and large groupsDemonstrated positive interpersonal skills in working with students, teachers, principals, and familiesDemonstrated professional communication skillsDemonstrated initiative, positive thinking, critical thinking, and sound decision-making skillsSalary as per the current OSSTF-DECE collective agreementInterested CandidatesPostings can be found on the DSB1 website at and on Apply to Education at Please apply using Apply to Education by clicking the Apply button.
