Enovateq is a small, dynamic design and engineering consultancy based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. We work across a range of industries and as part of our ongoing expansion plans we are looking for a talented designer to join the team and help us grow and develop a range of client driven designs and projects.We are ideally looking for someone who can work closely with the engineers to generate initial concept models and images for client reviews and selection. Once a concept is decided upon, they will fully model the product ensuring that each component is designed in such a way that ensures manufacturability is kept as simple as possible, and all materials are optimised where possible. They will be expected to generate high quality manufacturing drawings complete with all relevant tolerancing, ensuring all components can be assembled and operated without clashing.The role will involve a mixture of hands on, supervised and unsupervised design tasks, working with the company directors to help deliver client project requirements or in-house system and product design and developments.  ResponsibilitiesTo perform CAD, design and engineering tasks related to all existing and future Company Product lines.Interface with other disciplines to obtain input for designs and drawings and to develop clash free designsConduct self-check on drawing/sketches prior to submittal for checking.Prepare drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures.Conceptual design & development.Detailed design and development.Produce System P&ID’s .Contribute to IP development. Progress reporting.Participate in internal or external project review meetings. Upkeep and housekeeping of project files and folders.Engineering analysis and developmentProject and testing support.QualificationsHNC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (preferrable)3 Years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent experience. Consideration will be made for those who can demonstrate proficiency without the formal experience i.e. self-taught skills.Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to liaise with multi discipline project teams. Proficient user of SolidWorks and/or Inventor, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Good organisational and housekeeping skills. Basic understanding of project management principles. Understand safety regulations and responsibilities together with methods to control and reduce safety related risks.  Working conditionsOffice based, however work from home 1 day a week possible after a period of familiarisation and depending on project workload.
