We endure any condition, observe every detail, and are building a community that believes in living bravely and coming together to support game-changing people.Here, opportunities are everywhere - to try something new, to learn, to do meaningful and impactful work, and they're yours for the taking.Position OverviewBased in the Toronto Studio, the Outerwear Designer will create, contribute to, and execute product design activities from initial seasonal concept to final product.Highly creative, the Designer plays a key role in defining a modern and elevated silhouette that remains true to the brand’s core DNA—engaging our established audience while expanding its appeal to the global fashion luxury market.The Designer has strong expertise in both fashion and performance, combining creative vision, technical craftsmanship, and innovative thinking to drive the design process forward.In close collaboration with the Product Development, Materials & Innovation, and Merchandising teams, the Designer will manage a designated number of styles, ensuring the creation of a compelling luxury product assortment that meets high-quality standards and time-to-market objectives, satisfies market needs, and drives sales and global brand growth.About The RoleDesign a strong, relevant, and cohesive seasonal concept under the direction of the Creative Director and Design Leadership teamResearch and design a designated number of styles from concept to proto approval, managing up to the Design DirectorCollaborate closely with the Archives department to ensure the brand’s DNA is authentically reinforced and reflected throughout the design processParticipate in exploratory styling sessions to research and define the seasonal silhouette aligned with the conceptWork closely with Merchandising partners to ensure all designs support business objectivesLead sketch passes, fittings, and debriefs with the Development team to ensure that all design elements are executed with precision and coherence with the concept and brand strategyCreate and update technical packs as required for all designated stylesEnter and maintain accurate data and sketches in PLMIntegrate market trends and consumer feedback into the design process to ensure relevance and innovation in each collectionCollaborate with the Materials team to source and develop high-quality fabrics and trims aligned with the seasonal concept & long-term roadmapManage and drive calendar deliverables within the design and development process, ensuring deadlines are met and milestones achievedTravel to vendors and attend trade shows as needed to lead product research and developmentMentor and develop Associate Designers and InternsPerform all other duties as assigned by the managerAbout YouBachelor’s Degree (BA Hons or equivalent) in Fashion Design5+ years of experience in outerwear designExperience leading projects from concept to executionDemonstrated expertise in outerwear product construction, finishes, and embellishmentsHigh level of expertise in fabrics and trimsProven ability to take initiative to achieve departmental and corporate objectivesExcellent presentation skills for both concept and final productStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignPrior experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with 3D design software is a bonusStrong sense of personal accountability and proactive thinkingExceptional organizational and time-management skillsExperience presenting design and concept to a cross-functional audiencesExperience working in partnership with Merchandising and Product Development teamsDeep understanding of global fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscapeHighly creative with the ability to innovate and introduce new design concepts while maintaining brand integrityHigh level of professionalism and discretion when working with confidential information WORKING CONDITIONSOffice & Manufacturing environment / WFH hybridTravel required: up to 20%What’s in it For You?A company built on Canadian roots and heritageYour work is recognized with a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards ProgramOpportunities for career growth through numerous internal and external programsRecognize and be recognized by your peers with our Goose Rewards & ICON RewardsBe a part of CG Gives.
