Job DescriptionAbout the CompanyOur People Create Competitive and Responsible Hydrocarbon Growth to Maximise Value for OmanPurpose of the JobTo lead the AI Center of Excellence, driving the exploration, development, and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions that enhance operational efficiency, enable intelligent automation, and support strategic innovation across the organization.This role is critical in fostering a culture of experimentation, ensuring ethical AI practices, and delivering scalable prototypes aligned with business needs and the 2040 vision.To lead the AI Center of Excellence, driving the exploration, development, and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions that enhance operational efficiency, enable intelligent automation, and support strategic innovation across the organization.This role is critical in fostering a culture of experimentation, ensuring ethical AI practices, and delivering scalable prototypes aligned with business needs and the 2040 vision.Education & ExperienceExperience/QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.Minimum 10 years of experience in AI/ML development and deployment, with 3+ years in a leadership role.Proven experience in building and scaling AI models and platforms.Strong understanding of AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud-based AI services.Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external partnerships.Relevant certifications in AI, machine learning, or technology leadership are highly desirable.Main ResponsibilitiesPrincipal AccountabilitiesLead the design, development, and implementation of AI solutions aligned with business objectives.Establish AI standards, toolkits, and best practices to ensure consistent quality and scalability.Collaborate with business units to identify and prototype high-impact AI use cases.Promote ethical, transparent, and secure AI practices through governance frameworks.Continuously monitor, evaluate, and optimize model performance for accuracy and efficiency.Enhance internal capability through training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.Forge strategic partnerships with academia, vendors, and startups to track emerging AI trends.Drive AI awareness and adoption via engagement and communication programs.Integrate AI solutions within the enterprise architecture and data ecosystems.Define and monitor KPIs to measure AI value and report progress to leadership.Key SkillsExpertise in innovation management, design thinking, and lean startup principles.Strong facilitation and stakeholder management abilities for ideation and collaboration.Proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, with advanced Python and AI frameworks.Capability to translate business needs into AI-driven solutions and manage innovation portfolios.Experienced in project management, agile delivery, and strategic innovation leadership.ChallengesMaintaining scalability, data integrity, and compliance with ethical standards.Encouraging AI adoption across diverse units while balancing innovation, resources, and rapid technological change.Skills RequiredOther Job Details
