About The Role & TeamCorporate Real Estate is charged with strategic, proactive support for The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) Global Real Estate requirements. This is achieved through strong collaboration with key stakeholders providing well informed options enabling knowledgeable decisions. Design and Delivery executes ground-up, tenant improvement, technology capital construction, and capital maintenance projects within the Corporate Real Estate portfolio from project inception through design, permitting, construction, and turnover.What You Will DoThe Director, Design & Delivery is responsible for management and execution of capital construction projects throughout the West Region of the Corporate Real Estate Portfolio. The Director manages an in-house project management team which provides proactive management of capital improvement projects, recurring capital maintenance projects, and department initiatives. This team executes ground-up, tenant improvement, and technology capital construction work within TWDC global real estate portfolio. This team leverages in-house stakeholders and external consultants to plan and execute projects.The Director is a working manager, managing key projects directly in addition to managing their team.The Director will lead two Sr. Managers as direct reports, and oversee a team of 10+ members, plus contractors as needed.Required Qualifications & SkillsAt least 10 years of project management with proven experience managing Tenant Improvement, Ground up and Technology projects in a fast-paced environmentProven experience in schedule management and consistent on time project deliveryAble to demonstrate creative problem-solving techniques to resolve project issuesAble to demonstrate value engineering skills and articulate specific examples of successUnderstanding of the local or regional codes and ordinances that inform a building designUnderstanding of the entitlements, financial and public relations implications of a proposed physical planThoroughly proficient at reading and interpreting construction documents, leases, and contracts.Must be able to demonstrate a client service orientationAbility to manage expectations of business units, and consistently meet and exceed these expectationsProven experience in developing internal partnershipsMust have documented success in coordinating and managing staff assignments for multiple stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in an ownership role a plus, however not requiredContinuing education or post graduate level studies, (i.e. Master of Business Administration, Master of Architecture, Master Landscape Architecture) or professional license (i.e. Professional Engineer, Real Estate)Required EducationCollege degree required in a development core discipline such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related profession (or equivalent experience)The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $185,500 - $248,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
