As Director of Destination Marketing, you’ll be the strategic powerhouse behind innovative campaigns, commercial growth, and unforgettable brand experiences. From building market strategies to developing future leaders, this role is about making bold moves and delivering measurable results — all while championing some of the world’s most exciting destinations.The Director will be responsible for building, leading, coaching and supporting the Middle East & Africa Regional Destination Marketing team.Crucial to this role is developing, driving, and executing the regional Marketing and eCommerce strategy in support of key destinations and ownership groups.What will I be doing?Responsibilities Will IncludeDeveloping strategy and approach for defined destination(s), customer segments and customer originDeveloping processes, communication standards and tools to ensure we are driving Marketing activity to meet revenue and share targets for defined destination(s)Cultivating, building and leveraging in-market relationships to improve effectiveness of Marketing activitiesMeasuring and reporting on destination performance, communicating with in-market stakeholdersSupporting the storytelling of co-operative Marketing initiatives and digital performance to hotels, commercial teams and management companiesHolding budget responsibility for team level expenditures and approved Destination Marketing initiatives.People Management and talent development are also critical to this role. This will include ongoing staffing and hiring decisions. The Director will need to effectively lead a team spread across multiple physical locations with a mix of office-based and remote-based Team Members.The Director will be responsible for not only creating a high-functioning team with a positive culture, but also helping grow and develop our future leaders. They will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, management and development of their whole team, direct and indirect reports.Position SummaryEnsure that each destination has a tailored annual Marketing plan, including offline and digital destination-specific campaigns throughout the year, leveraging national campaigns wherever possible and adapting to business needs as they arise.Build, promote and execute destination marketing activity and perform campaign execution for assigned destinations.Support performance of non-contracted leisure business by being accountable for commercial channel performance to the destination (including brand.com, CRM, Drive Radio, OTA, GDS).Cultivate and leverage key in-market relationships, partnerships and resources, including those with key destination marketing organisations and travel authorities.Conduct joint planning with hotels as appropriate to ensure tight integration, including scheduled destination-level Marketing meetings covering trends, insights and performance.Provide support to all hotels in the destination to optimise their online and offline hotel presence, with a particular focus on growing book direct revenue and channel mix.Ensure that all hotels in the destination benefit from the full range of corporate Marketing and digital services, including SEO, PPC, web retailing and social media.Partner with colleagues in other primary and secondary destinations to build outbound source-market activity across markets.Build and sustain an entrepreneurial and agile team culture.Direct Reports2 x Senior Manager, 1 X Manager Destination MarketingWhat will I be doing?Required Skills And ExperienceAbility to influence and effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders at SVP levelStrong leadership and coaching skillsStrong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to drive business performanceDemonstrable experience in forming creative concepts and articulation of these through concise creative briefs.Experience in directing media and creative agencies both in-house and external.Excellent communication and presentation skills with Proficiency in presenting regular business reviews and performance updates to Executive level leadersStrong experience in managing a team of Senior Manager(s)In depth experience of presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendations.Experience in leading and managing agency relationships and agency performanceLeadership and delivering partnership campaignsExperience of managing budgets and PNL.Experience of working across Multiple regionsExperience in delivering creative and innovative digital campaigns, products, plans for multiple destinations.Strategic leadership and timely delivery of innovative revenue related projects in excess of $1 million per region not limited to Digital Marketing CampaignsIn depth knowledge of Omni-channelsExtensive experience of integrated marketing strategy or digital marketing experience and eCommerce experience.Highly proficient in reviewing data, manipulating data, and developing insightsStrategic thinking and decision-making skillsTakes accountabilityRelationship management skillsEntrepreneurship/selling abilityProficient in MS Office Suite.Strong people management experience at Senior Manager levelExtensive knowledge of integrated marketing strategy or digital marketing experience and eCommerce experience.Extensive experience reviewing data, manipulating data, and developing insightsExtensive experience presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendationsWhat will it be like to work for Hilton?Hilton is the leading global hospitality company, spanning the lodging sector from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels.
