About The OpportunityJoin Ericsson's strengthened and dynamic Government & Policy Advocacy (GPA) team, where you'll lead efforts to enhance our strategic influence, access, and impact with global policymakers. Your focus will center on high-priority policy issues that directly affect our business, customers, and society at large. As we position ourselves at the forefront of the ICT and digital policy landscape, you will play a pivotal role in shaping regulatory frameworks and seeding innovative policy concepts that drive our commercial success.In this leadership role, you will spearhead initiatives that proactively influence government policies, legislation, and industry regulations. As a Director within our EU Affairs team in Brussels, you’ll report directly to the Head of EU Government Affairs, while collaborating with GPA professionals across regions to ensure Ericsson’s interests are effectively represented in the global policy arena.We are an ambitious, fast-moving, collaborative and influential team and this role will provide opportunities for growth and new experiences. While Brussels based and focused, there will be travel and opportunities to work across the EU. The role means working closely with European and EMEA business leaders, with the office of the CTO, with legal, marketing and comms, and with strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive the strategic direction of Ericsson's government advocacy efforts, serving as a the primary point of contact for all policy and campaign initiatives within the European region.Shape and execute advocacy strategies that align with both regional and global business objectives, ensuring early-stage influence on critical policy developments.Develop high-level policy positions, briefing documents, and stakeholder engagement plans, empowering senior executives and teams to confidently engage with policymakers.Cultivate and expand influential relationships with key stakeholders at European institutions, including the European Commission, European Parliament, and Council of the EU, ensuring Ericsson remains a trusted partner in public policy discussions.Represent Ericsson in industry-leading organizations, associations, and relevant coalitions, reinforcing our reputation as a thought leader in ICT and digital policy.Provide strategic leadership and collaboration to GPA colleagues across Europe but also potentially Middle East and Africa and in the USA and Asia, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture across multiple functions and geographies.Enhance intelligence and governance frameworks to monitor policy trends, assess regulatory impacts, and provide actionable insights for business leaders.Champion cross-functional collaboration, working seamlessly across teams to drive internal alignment while navigating complex policy landscapes.What You BringProven leadership experience in government affairs, policy advocacy, or regulatory affairs, ideally within the ICT or telecom sectors.Deep expertise in EU institutions, with a nuanced understanding of how policy and regulatory decisions impact the business landscape and telecommunications industry.Organisational, process and project management skills and appetite, for the EU/Brussels team and for strategic European projectsA strategic mindset, with the ability to identify and capitalize on regulatory opportunities while mitigating risks.Exceptional communication skills, capable of distilling complex policy issues into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leaders and external partners.Strong ethical standards and a well-established reputation for integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in industry circles.Fluent English proficiency, with additional EU languages being a strong advantage.A visionary, self-driven attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing strategic oversight with tactical execution.Join our TeamWhy join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
