Job DescriptionThe Director – Finance Modernization Lead is a strategic leadership position responsible for managing Oracle’s finance transformation partnerships with large Japanese banks. This role serves as the principal liaison between Oracle and the client’s executive team, building long-term relationships, understanding complex banking and regulatory environments, and ensuring successful adoption of Oracle’s finance applications.The Director will leverage deep expertise in accounting and finance, including IFRS 9/17, general ledger operations, risk, and compliance, to guide clients through modernization initiatives. This includes overseeing the design and deployment of Oracle Finance Applications such as Oracle General Ledger (GL), and the Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) suite—including AFCS, IFRS 9, AML, and KYC modules—to meet rigorous industry, local, and global compliance standards.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities: Lead executive-level relationships with large Japanese banks, ensuring alignment of Oracle solutions with the banks’ finance transformation agendas. Provide functional and strategic guidance on risk, accounting, and compliance, with a focus on IFRS 9/17, General Ledger, and regulatory requirements. Oversee the solution design and implementation for Oracle Finance Applications, including Oracle GL and OFSAA (AFCS, IFRS 9, AML, KYC, etc.). Drive business adoption and value realization by articulating solution benefits and securing stakeholder buy-in across finance and risk domains. Coordinate Oracle and client teams in Japan, leading joint planning, workshops, and governance meetings. Present to and influence C-level executives, ensuring clear communication of value, progress, and innovation opportunities. Stay current on industry trends, compliance regulations, and Oracle roadmap to proactively guide client strategy. Profile Requirements: Degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional certification (CA, CPA) preferred. 10+ years’ experience in financial services, finance transformation, or consulting, with a strong track record supporting large banks. Deep knowledge of risk, accounting (incl. IFRS 9/17), GL, and regulatory compliance in the banking sector. Proven hands-on expertise with Oracle Finance Applications (GL, OFSAA suite, regulatory analytics). Fluent in English and Japanese; exceptional communication, leadership, and client management skills. Prior experience managing large-scale programs and leading senior client relationships.
