Job Description

The Director, International Business Services (IBS), plays a pivotal role in leading SBF’s internationalisation agenda under the GlobalConnect@SBF initiative. The role drives strategic market development, ensures sound governance and compliance across government-funded programmes, and strengthens SBF’s service delivery to help Singapore enterprises Learn, Generate Leads, Land and Localise overseas.You will lead a cross-functional team to deliver high-impact internationalisation programmes, build strong stakeholder partnerships, and ensure financial and operational sustainability of SBF’s market enablement platforms. This role resides within the International Business Division (IBD), reports to the Executive Director and delivers core services across all regions.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategy & Programme DevelopmentLead strategic planning, business engagement, and new programme development to support SMEs’ internationalisation.Drive workplan formulation, budget forecasting, and resource allocation.Develop sustainable business models for overseas centres and new initiatives with clear ROI.2. Governance & ComplianceOversee governance and financial frameworks for all internationalisation programmes.Lead proposals, renewals, and extensions of government-funded initiatives (e.g., GlobalConnect@SBF).Establish cross-division monitoring, reporting, and audit mechanisms.Support Executive Directors in managing business councils and institutional committees.3. Marketing & CommunicationsLead the design and execution of marketing and communication strategies across online and offline channels.Ensure alignment of engagement messaging and assets with SBF’s branding and strategic objectives.Coordinate with internal divisions to amplify outreach to key business communities.Lead digitalisation and service innovation initiatives to enhance member engagement.4. Customer Experience & Service ExcellenceDevelop and implement customer experience standards, event workflows, and service delivery processes.Ensure premium quality customer experience, efficient and effective workflows that leads to optimised revenue generationPartner with market teams to execute high-quality business missions, events, and trade facilitation activities.5. Partnerships & Commercial DevelopmentBuild and deepen strategic partnerships with sponsors, chambers, and overseas partners.Drive partnership revenue targets and ensure compliance in contracts and sponsorship agreements.Maintain oversight of partnership databases and performance tracking.6. Leadership & Team ManagementProvide strategic direction, guidance, and performance oversight for the IBS team.Align divisional objectives with corporate KPIs and reporting officers’ direction.Foster collaboration, professional growth, and high team morale.Uphold excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the division.Requirements:At least 12 years of relevant experience, including 5 in a senior leadership role.Strong grasp of SME needs and global business development dynamics.Proven success in team leadership, stakeholder management, and programme execution.Highly organised, detail-oriented, and skilled in process optimisation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong in stakeholder engagement.Self-motivated, positive, and collaborative with a strong sense of ownership.
