Lead a high-performing team delivering trusted advice and seamless Cabinet and ministerial services.About The RoleThe Director, Ministerial and Cabinet Services leads the provision of high-quality ministerial services, Cabinet functions, and strategic advisory support to portfolio Ministers, the Secretary, and senior departmental leadership. The role ensures seamless coordination of government business, policy alignment with government priorities, and the delivery of robust, evidence-based submissions and advice. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the Director will be able to demonstrate advanced judgement and strong resilience. The Director will drive a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability while delivering high quality services that advance DEECA's strategic and legislative responsibilities.About YouTo be successful in the role, you will have:Expert knowledge of government administration, including Cabinet and parliamentary processes, policy frameworks, and legislative protocols.Advanced judgement and strong resilienceHighly desirable - a degree in a suitable discipline, such as business, public policy or administration, law, economics, social science or some other relevant area is highly desirable.About The BranchThe Ministerial and Cabinet Services Branch provides expert coordination, governance, and advisory services to support DEECA's alignment with whole-of-government decision-making. The Branch ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality DEECA Cabinet submissions, ministerial briefs, correspondence, and parliamentary questions support, and coordinated cabinet briefings that are high quality and reflects the department's “one DEECA voice.” Through robust quality assurance, policy insights, stakeholder collaboration, and a focus on operational excellence, the branch underpins DEECA's ability to contribute meaningfully to government priorities. It also leads strategic analysis, reporting, and coordination to support Ministers in fulfilling their legislative and parliamentary responsibilities, ensuring submissions and engagements are timely, aligned, and impactful. The branch delivers comprehensive and seamless administrative and advisory support to portfolio Ministers, enabling them to successfully implement government policy, fulfil parliamentary responsibilities, and effectively communicate their objectives.This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 5 years.
