Director of Business Development – Eastern SalesCanada’s largest 100% First Nations-owned hospitality company is looking for a Business Development Director to oversee its growing ventures in Eastern Canada. This role is perfect for a proven or up-and-coming business leader, especially one who is Indigenous.For over three decades, Athabasca Catering has been at the forefront of providing indigenous hospitality services to our clients. We aim to empowering and inspire our people to work with integrity, and to see obstacles as opportunities to grow.As the successful candidate, you will play a vital role in our strategic sales growth, focusing on the eastern geographic region of our business.  Reporting to the Managing Director, you will increase profitability by generating viable business development opportunities. You will work with internal and external stakeholders on all levels, to “build the bridges” of opportunity. You will seek out new profitable ventures and oversee their development from their infancy up to the bidding process and handover. You will also develop and implement strategies and solutions for the company, as well as its current/prospective clients and business partners.To succeed in this role, you must be a proactive strategist who leads by example. You not only drive growth, but operational excellence. You are someone who knows industry benchmarks, while market data to create newer and greater markers for success. You also need superior communication and facilitation skills, including exceptional written, oral, and presentation abilities. In addition, you must be analytical with strong attention to detail.You must have related work experience in business development. Knowledge and experience in the remote catering industry is a strong asset. You need strong sales and consultative skills, with a proven track record in closing deals and contracts. You must have a demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, interpret, and present financial data. In addition, you must be entrepreneurial, coupled with project management experience. Lastly, you can meet deadlines and work under pressure, while always carrying yourself with the highest standard of professionalism.
