Job Description

Business Development Director, Consulting and Technology is responsible for driving New Logos across UHY’s national consulting service lines by expanding the firm’s footprint across the U.S. within key practice areas. This role leads all aspects of the sales process, including segmented prospect targeting, identifying opportunities for service line integration, supporting partners in solution development, assembling pursuit teams, and managing the process from initial contact through to closing and contract finalization. Business Development Director, Consulting and Technology is expected to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, deliver strategic presentations and proposals, and collaborate across teams to convert opportunities into new business.In addition to direct sales responsibilities, Business Development Director, Consulting and Technology works closely with firm leadership to co-lead growth efforts through proactive prospecting, relationship-building, and active participation in industry and professional associations. This position requires a strategic, client-focused individual who excels at developing relationships, navigating complex business environments, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.Business Development & Strategic GrowthGenerate and qualify new business opportunities with prospective clients for AI, Project Management, Change Management, Business Process Optimization and other related consultative services for the efficiency of the business as a wholeIncrease UHY’s market presence and collaborate with leadership for a cohesive go-to-market strategyLeverage proven and established network of contacts, professional affiliations, and industry groupsResponsibility to obtaining initial meetings with prospective clients and having SMEs on the meetings as neededNurturing relationships with a consultative approach and a goal of a long-term sales approachIdentify marketing and business development initiatives to drive cross-selling and key account growthCollaborate across teams to understand firm offerings and align them with ideal client profilesAssist in preparing sales materials, proposals, and prospect communicationsDocument business development activities in Salesforce and maintain a qualified pipelineProvide ongoing market insights to National Sales Organization managementPreferred Network StrengthsStrong connections with C-Suite executives and decision-makersActive involvement in industry organizations and professional associationsEngagement with Chief Accounting Officer and VP of Finance to drive business opportunitiesUnderstanding of and experience working with Middle Market and Enterprise CompaniesSupervisory responsibilitiesN/AWork environmentWork is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractionsPhysical demandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of timeMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a timeTravel required Travel required (local and overnight)Required education and experienceBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, marketing or equivalent experience8- 10 years of professional services sales experienceUnderstands the business issues associated with accounting and/or professional services, strong ability to uncover needs and develop solutions to client issuesAbility to establish and cultivate long-term effective relationships with internal and external relationshipsMust be motivated and self-disciplined; must possess strong time management skillsDemonstrate strong communication, presentation, analytical and organizational skillsPrior success meeting and/or exceeding annual sales targetExperience leveraging a CRM tool for report generation and sales trackingProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint) and Salesforce softwarePreferred education and experienceMaster’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, marketing or equivalent experiencePrior success consultative selling for a consulting or accounting firmExperience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar settingPrior FP&A experience either with software or serviceOther dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the colleague for this job.
