The Capitol Forum is hiring two Directors of Business Development.We’re looking for senior sales professionals with deep experience in the hedge fund and institutional investment space to help expand our global subscriber base and partnerships.As The Capitol Forum continues to grow as a trusted source for investigative journalism and in-depth analysis of market-moving competition and policy issues, these roles will play a pivotal part in shaping our commercial strategy—building lasting relationships with hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutional clients who rely on our insights to navigate complex markets.Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, each Director will lead business development initiatives across the investment sector, identifying opportunities for growth and driving new revenue through strategic, data-driven engagement.If you’re a results-oriented sales executive who thrives at the intersection of finance, regulation, and intelligence, we’d love to hear from you.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead business development efforts targeting hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutional investors.Drive new client acquisition while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing subscribers.Proactively generate and pursue new leads to maximize revenue opportunities.Demonstrate a deep understanding of The Capitol Forum’s reporting and analysis to clearly convey its value to prospective clients.Engage new leads from marketing campaigns, conferences, and inbound inquiries to convert opportunities into long-term relationships.Build and maintain a strong prospective client pipeline using CRM tools.Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities across financial and regulatory intelligence markets.Schedule and manage client meetings, product demonstrations, and trial access.Maintain accurate records of sales activity, forecasts, and progress reports.Collaborate closely with marketing, editorial, and leadership teams to align outreach strategies and support company growth initiatives.Operate independently with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to achieving revenue targets.QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCEEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in B2B sales, preferably within financial intelligence, data, research, or media sectors.Proven success cultivating and closing enterprise-level relationships with hedge funds, asset managers, or institutional investors.Strong understanding of how financial market participants use regulatory, policy, and investigative insights to inform investment strategies.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Self-starter who excels at managing client relationships and achieving results without direct supervision.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSPay will be commensurate with experience.
