Director of Product QualitySalary $180,000 - $220,000100% Remote About the RoleThe Director of Product Quality will lead the design and enforcement of operational standards that ensure every MapLarge release meets the highest bar of reliability, performance, and user experience. This strategic role bridges engineering, product management, and operations to implement quality governance, release certification, and continuous improvement processes.You’ll establish and manage cross-functional quality programs from design through release — creating scalable frameworks that enable MapLarge to deliver enterprise-grade and government-compliant solutions with precision and consistency. If you enjoy working with talented teammates to solve complex challenges, we'd love for you to join us. ResponsibilitiesOwn the company-wide product quality framework, defining release criteria and stage-gate governance.Develop and manage quality KPIs (defect rates, release confidence, customer satisfaction, SLA adherence) and communicate to various stakeholders.Design and operationalize cross-functional readiness and release validation processes.Partner with Product and Engineering to implement QA pipelines, regression testing, feedback loops and documentation standards.Build and lead a Product Quality Operations team responsible for QA, documentation, and continuous improvement.Establish a Product Quality Review (PQR) process to analyze systemic issues and prevent recurrences.Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Customer Success to ensure pre-release performance and compliance validation.Drive continuous improvement initiatives that balance release velocity with enterprise-grade reliability.Provide leadership on modern test automation tools, procedures and controls. Increasing the coverage, speed and reliability of our QA environment while reducing time and cost of testing.Integrate quality processes with R&D capitalization and audit documentation.Participate as a hands-on individual contributor in the test workflow.Qualifications10+ years in software or product operations with 5+ years in QA, release, or program governance leadership.Proven experience implementing scalable cross-functional quality or release frameworks.Experience with designing/delivery of automated test strategies, architectures and processes. Deep understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and software release management.Familiarity with GAAP R&D capitalization and documentation standards.Experience with enterprise or government compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, ISO 9001, CMMI).Strong leadership and communication skills; able to influence across functions.Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with experience defining and tracking KPIs.Nice to HaveSoftware development backgroundBackground in SaaS or geospatial technology.Exposure to federal or defense software delivery requirements.Experience with automated testing and CI/CD toolchains.Knowledge of data visualization or analytics platforms.Cultural Fit While we hire all kinds of people and invent roles to fit them, there are four key traits we require of every team member that really define our team. Fun to Work With - Life is short and work should be fun. Smart - We work on cutting-edge hard problems.
