The Opportunity:The Director of Sales Planning will lead the strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives across all channels and customer segments. This role is critical in driving alignment between sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain to ensure optimal go-to-market strategies, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep experience in CPG, strong analytical acumen, and a passion for driving commercial excellence.Key Responsibilities & Job Duties:Sales Strategy & PlanningLead the development of annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with corporate objectives.Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into actionable sales strategies.Develop all relevant customer & field communications & tools Forecasting & Performance ManagementMonitor sales performance against targets; identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track performance across channels and customers.Category ManagementProvide support to customer team for joint business planning Development of assortment/space recommendationsLead planning for new product launches and distribution expansion.Team Leadership & DevelopmentBuild and lead a high-performing sales planning team.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.Required ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.10+ years of experience in sales planning, commercial strategy, or revenue management within CPG.Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, and planning software.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience with trade promotion management and S&OP processes.
