As Director of Vehicle Protection Products, you will lead the development, integration, and marketing of Scout’s full suite of retail finance and insurance products. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, customer-centric experience across digital and retail channels.What you’ll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:Product Development & Launch ReadinessDesign and implement a comprehensive suite of vehicle protection and insurance products tailored to Scout vehicle owners that delivers on the Scout customer promiseOversee regulatory compliance and licensing requirements across US and Canadian markets, ensuring legal, profitable, and sustainable operationsDevelop and execute a roadmap for product readiness, including systems, training, and partner supportStrategic Leadership & Partner ManagementLead selection and onboarding of partners for vehicle insurance, extended warranty, GAP, pre-paid maintenance service, and other protection productsNegotiate contracts and partnership terms, ensuring alignment with the Scout brand and desired customer experienceMaintain strong relationships with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, evaluating performance through a regular business review cycle and constant KPI monitoringDigital Integration & OperationsCollaborate with Scout Motors Digital Products, IT, Sales Operations, and Retail Operations teams to define user needs and system requirements for quoting, contracting, and presenting productsEnsure seamless integration of F&I and insurance products into the Scout Motors digital retail platform and checkout processEstablish operational mechanisms for offer creation, tracking, reconciliation, and reportingMarketing & Customer EngagementLead development and execution of marketing strategies for vehicle protection and insurance productsCollaborate with the Brand and Communications teams to ensure clear communication and alignment with the Scout brand and identityPartner with the Marketing team on creative development and messaging for product launches, promotions, and lifecycle communicationsPerformance & Competitiveness MonitoringWork with the Sales Operations team to analyze market competitiveness and optimize pricing and bundling strategies, all with the objective of maximizing offer attractiveness, share, and profitabilityDevelop dashboards and reporting tools to track key metrics, including product penetration, revenue contribution, loyalty, and customer satisfactionTranslate market feedback into actionable insights to sharpen the Scout product offering and competitive positionLocation & Travel Expectations:This role will be based out of the future Scout Motors corporate headquarters, which is anticipated to be identified in 2025. This role may be remote to start but will transition to an in-office setting at the headquarters after the location is determined. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City. The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Here's what else you'll bring:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree a plus10+ years of experience in automotive F&I products3+ years of experience in vehicle insuranceExtensive exposure and management responsibility in automotive sales, marketing, and partner managementSkills & AttributesDeep understanding of the automotive F&I and vehicle insurance landscapeProven ability to build programs from scratch and drive cross-functional alignmentStrong analytical mindset with fluency in data tools and performance metricsExperience leading high-performing teams and cultivating a collaborative cultureStrategic thinker with excellent communication and project management skillsAbility to navigate organizational complexity and influence senior leadershipWhat you'll gainThe benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.
