Disaster Recovery Specialist – Intermediate📍 Location: Dublin or Cork (Hybrid working) 🏢 Company: Harvey Nash – on behalf of our client 🕒 Contract: 6 months initially (scope for 2 further 6-month extensions)About the RoleHarvey Nash is seeking a talented Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our client’s technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and implementing a comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity strategy, including initiatives supporting a large-scale national digital transformation program.The successful candidate will design, test, and deliver disaster recovery solutions that ensure system resilience, business continuity, and rapid recovery in the event of an unforeseen disruption.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans for both on-premises and cloud-based IT services.Create and maintain disaster recovery plans for large-scale digital programs.Conduct Business Impact Analyses and risk assessments to determine recovery requirements.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure recovery strategies align with business needs.Plan and execute disaster recovery testing, including simulations and full-interruption tests.Identify and manage critical infrastructure components and oversee continuous improvement of DR plans.Work with senior leadership, IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure effective recovery governance.Required Qualifications & Experience4–6 years of professional experience in a Disaster Recovery Specialist or related role.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.Hands-on experience developing and implementing Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.Strong understanding of DR planning tools, testing methodologies, and risk management frameworks.Proven experience with backup, recovery, storage systems, and IT security management.Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, ITIL v3, DRI International (DRII), or BCI best practices.Certifications (any of the following or equivalent preferred):ISC2: CISSPISACA: CISM, CRISC, CISA, CGEITISO 27001 Lead Auditor / ImplementerCompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner+ISO 22301 Lead Implementer / AuditorInterested?If you’re ready to take the next step in your IT career, apply today or contact Veera.annm@harveynash.com to discuss the role in more detail.
